Re: Watch Your Mouth

...He said simply type their name in a search window and then type the word "heretic" next to it. The moment you press search, watch the fun as religious zealots from the anonymous world of the internet explain, with Bible verses to back it up, where these people are actually agents for furthering satans kingdom....
I actually tried this. Lo and behold, I found site after site referring to Pope Benedict (a hero of mine) as "the heretic pope", etc. Your friend was right, at least in this instance. Of course, Jesus was also called a heretic (or at least a "blasphemer" - whatever the difference is), so any Christian hero is in good company when facing such charges.
...Professional media sources are in theory responsible for what they write and, if proven slanderous or innacurate, prudently publish retractions. The blogger is under no such ethical scrutiny. If proven wrong ( which first PRESUMES they are teachable and willing to change) they rarely if ever retract or ask forgiveness. No that takes not only courage ,but more importantly, character....
I disagree with you on this one, Brad. Look at the intense pressure it took to get SeeBS to admit they screwed up with "AWOLgate". The MSM routinely reports only that which is damaging to conservatives and/or favorable to liberals. Just look at how FoxNews is constantly being trashed despite being the closest thing to "fair and balanced" the media have to offer.
Bloggers who screw up and don't admit it are simply exercising their right to free press just like when the New York Slimes or SeeBS does it.
Brad, keep up the great work. You are a beacon in a city of darkness.
