Re: Watch Your Mouth

Brad:
I really did get the point of your topic. Bloggers should have the character to 1) admit when they're wrong 2) Be accurate when researching facts. We are influencing others with our words (especially if you're a politician, i.e., you don't have to act righteous, just sound righteous!).
IMHO, words must be powerful if God used them to speak life in existence! If fact, we are told in Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Ooops! Am I one of those...you know...religious zealots who cite Scripture? Mustn't offend)
Okay, now at the risk of sounding a little defensive, especially to my "main man", Bradster, I have a small point to make. My point is this. Christianity, my faith, takes a relentless pounding by the secular like nothing else in our society. We are mocked, ridiculed, and slandered without mercy by the media at large. I truly beleive most of the bad blood President Bush has suffered is not because of the war in Iraq. It is because he is a professed Christian. Believe it. Christian bashing is so pervasive in our current culture that even we "numbed" Christians tend to go along with it and without realizing it, "eat our young". Why? Why do we slam ourselves? Don't we get enough of that?
Brad said above:
"A guy once said to me to choose any Christian I admire, whether it be C.S.Lewis, Billy Graham or mother Theresa. He said simply type their name in a search window and then type the word "heretic" next to it. The moment you press search, watch the fun as religious zealots from the anonymous world of the internet explain, with Bible verses to back it up, where these people are actually agents for furthering satans kingdom."
Okay, Brad, I get it. Really. But of all the examples that can be taken from the blogosphere about the "Looney Left" and their distortions of reality, (remember the MSM, Dan Rather, trying to take down a sitting President with forged documents prior to a national election?) you chose to cite a "religious" example of extremism. Thank you Brad. I didn't know their were "nutters" on our side too!
So I am done with my whine. I hope my very small diatribe has "influenced" you. Ha.
Just old Jim? You're always a blessing, bro'. Perhaps when I'm "just old Ziobuck" will I have learned His grace...from...your...grace.
