Re: Re: Watch Your Mouth
by Just Old Jim
To all my friends and fellow Christians: When the days get rough and the arrows are flying in your direction it is easy to get down. I would like to share this with you: I was spending some time this morning thanking God for the many blessings that he has afforded me through out my life, I was reminded of the last real conversation I had with my dad, Justoldjim Sr. The occasion was in the very last days of my dad’s life. Dad’s, body was racked with cancer. That monster was devouring him one fraction of a lb at a time. He was so frail and so small, in those last days. On this particular day I was trying to cheer dad up when he looked at me and said, “Jim, Cheer up this is the best day of my life!” I was astounded, what in this world could have possessed dad to make such a statement. I guess he knew my thoughts and explained his statement like this. Yesterday no matter how good or bad is only a memory, some memories are sweet some bitter and some bitter-sweet, but a memory never the less. I can only remember yesterday I can’t change anything about it. I can plan for tomorrow and hope that I see it but there is no assurance that I will. So what do I have? I HAVE TODAY, and in the moment of this day my son I can dream, I can love and I can, accomplish many things. If I have wronged any man I have time to apologize and if possible make amends. I will not waste this day, for it is the stuff life is made of. We have life today, what more can we ask? Enjoy the moment and the Day. TODAY IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE AND YOURS MY SON. And what a joy it is, to share this fact and this day with my friends! In the name of the one that loves us, Just old Jim
