Re: Re: A Hard Journey
by Just Old Jim
Sometimes in the maturation of a Christian, God allows test to come our way. Most of the time, when these test come, they come when you are trying your best (or what we believe to be your best) to serve the Lord. They come from directions that are hard to understand and the first thing you want to do is ask, “Why God?” When we sit down with God’s letter to us and go deep into fervent pray then we find answers and those answers lead to a new lesson in Christian living, as a child of God. With out the test of our faith and our resolve in it then where is our testimony. We are fair weather sailors and can not be trusted with the ship on a stormy sea. Christ did not come to bring peace and harmony; he came to bring a sword. As warriors of God we must put on the whole armor of God to deflect the slings and fiery darts and arrows of our adversary. We never really think that those arrows would come from one who, we believe, believes the same as us. When they do, they hurt us the worst. There is a proverb that says “Keep your enemies close; keep your friends closer.” Let’s talk about the crux of what we are attempting to do. In the essence we are displaying our desire to serve God in a way that is unique and people are afraid of change. That fear is the roadblock that we have run against. It’s just a wall and educating others to what we are doing will reduce the wall to a small fence. And at that point we will just fly over it, though it maybe over 100 stories high. We are Christians telling that 2000 year old story that “Jesus came to Save” and in the final verdict if one is lead to the table of salvation and finds union with our Lord then our work has been successful. Have you ever thought about what 10,000 angles singing would sound like? The race of life is not always to the swift or the pretty but to the one that endures to the end. I do not see nor hear “give up” in anything I have read here, just a desire for a smoother road. God created many different types of birds, many colors and sizes. With few exception most of them fly! Only those of a feather fly together, but, they fly. Some things look differently when they are looked at from a different prospective. It may take a little longer than we would like to get our point across; but, we will in time. If, when we face these slings and arrows we stand with our shields in our hands and God at our side. It may not be Saint Crispin’s Day but we will bare our sleeves and show our scares. And those that don’t will sell their manhood cheap! I’m Justoldjim
