Yeah...one of the things that sucks about politics is that it's too easy to generalize the other side, when in actuality most of them are normal, nice people whose only personality quirk is their screwed up view on politics. I had this same struggle with my fiance's dad for a while - morally, he's one of the most conservative people I know...but politically, he's a Democrat, and a pretty liberal one at that. Personally, if I was in the same position, I'd probably end up committing suicide because there would be no one I could vote for...ever...but he seems to manage okay (I think the neo-con revolution should help him out a bit). And he's a nice guy. I just try not to talk politics when he's around. I guess the moral of the story is that people are people...no matter their philosophical leanings.
