My son is 12 and now knows all the details about sex. The timing as to when this conversation needed to begin was thrust upon us by accident when he was ten and we were watching a show on giraffes.

For some odd reason I never equated the correlation between sex and giraffes as a topic that would come up anywhere outside of the bay area in California.
