Barak Obama made it very clear during his campaign that he wanted to restore admiration for the U.S. amongst nations around the world. Already within one week in office he succeeded! He signed legislation that lifts the ban on U.S. federal funds going to abortions in other nations. Hooray!!

My son is twelve years old. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of raising a twelve year old, it’s really quite simple. Your only role for the most part is to keep him from killing himself. Meanwhile, he’ll be climbing anything he can find and searching for creative ways to break stuff. It’s also important to realize he’s fully convinced that he’s invincible, which is the name of the game while being a boy.

On Feb 17, the US government has mandated a shift from analog television broadcasts to digital. Digital is better in its clarity and sound as well as the amount of programming it will offer. Most Americans will be unaware and/or unaffected by the change. If you have cable, satellite or phone-company TV you will continue to receive broadcasts but those with rabbit ears or a roof-top antenna need a converter box.

It snowed last night. Snow is a curse. Snow is evil. Snow is what happens when the atmosphere solidifies and falls on your head. Snow is Chicken Little’s justification. Snow falls from the heavens and smothers the earth. It is cold, wet, and slippery.

Nothing says failure like a New Years resolution! I mean has anyone ever come to the end of a whole year, paused to look back and was able to say, “Yep, I accomplished every goal I set for 08. I conquered every bad habit I despised and yes, I am a completely transformed person. Come one and all and learn from me”. No! Never!
