Blogs are dangerous in my opinion. Not dangerous because of their content, but dangerous because their content doesn't have to be accurate.

The internet with all of its value of giving people access to a whole world of people and information , has also given us acces to child pornography, how to make terrorists weapons, and free access to the dark side of humanity.

Last time we talked I mentioned some "challenges" I was facing based on some misleading information that a major newspaper had printed under the guise of un-biased "news". I am used to being insulted and attacked over the internet as any google search of my name will readily make apparent.

But I'm not alone. A guy once said to me to choose any Christian I admire, whether it be C.S.Lewis, Billy Graham or mother Theresa. He said simply type their name in a search window and then type the word "heretic" next to it. The moment you press search, watch the fun as religious zealots from the anonymous world of the internet explain, with Bible verses to back it up, where these people are actually agents for furthering satans kingdom.

Professional media sources are in theory responsible for what they write and, if proven slanderous or innacurate, prudently publish retractions. The blogger is under no such ethical scrutiny. If proven wrong ( which first PRESUMES they are teachable and willing to change) they rarely if ever retract or ask forgiveness. No that takes not only courage ,but more importantly, character.

I think it would do all of us good to scrutinize what we put out into the intellectual ethers as, whether we realize it or not, our words carry weight and in some instances influence.

I have come to realize that over time, if you are in the right, your challenged reputation will be repudiated. God is the guardian of my name and sometimes we all have to count on Him to guide us through difficult days, ALWAYS, with the understanding that when you come out the other side you are better for it.

I am 2 weeks out from filming my next project. I am anxious to get this new material into the marketplace, but it always goes out with a little prayer. "God make me valuable to my people and culture". When its all said and done we are all making our best guess. Sure we are supposed to be vessels for truth, but the truth is...we leak.
