Having your own website where people can contact you and ask questions is real irritating to me. Not because I don't like to engage in dialogue...I love too. It's just that I have been trained as a stand-up comic for 18 years now. Where I am good , really good if I say so myself is being able to talk to people of dissenting views using real words coming out of my real mouth.
Last night a profile piece aired on ABC Nightline about me and my desire to mainstream middle American thought. ( conservative politically , usually Christian , and pro America). Immediatley afterwards I get people who never heard of me on my boards asking questions of which I would love to answer. Unfortunately what I have discovered is when you get into arguments with people from a dissenting POV it NEVER gets anywhere productive.
I got the typical angry liberal/atheist who mock and demean you then run away and hide in cyberland never to be heard from again. I never respond to them because they are never looking for civil dialogue, and their self righteous bitterness and bigoted hatred towards Christians always speaks for itself. But I wish I was able to have a face to face dialogue because it's much easier to expose their ignorance as well as easier to get to the point w/o having to type and ruin my manicure.
(just as an aside to the drive by atheist, Thomas Jefferson prayed at his inaugeration and asked those present to join him. He also responded in the same letter sent to the Danbury Baptists which includes his seperation of church and state phrase he also said.." And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have lost the only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath?" The amount of God references specifically Christian , written by all the founding fathers is so pervasive it's almost embarassing to have to debate an atheist who believes the founding fathers were anti-Christian. Does make for a good laugh on our part though!)
Those who go on my site understand I can't keep up with all the inquiries but I also have some loyal fans that usually take it upon themselves to answer for me. ( apparently they have more spare time than me thank God) and much of the time their answer is appropriate.
My point is that as more opportunities arise for my career/purpose I will have less time coming here. I will always check in and try to respond periodically when it seems necessary. Some day there will be a boards that you can speak to people live on air. Then you will see me as that would get interesting.
