One of the great pleasures of my life has been to make fun of the "Hollywood" set. Saying or doing politically incorrect things was fun simply because apparently it causes them internal organ damage. How the idea of being politically correct ever took hold in the first place is beyond me.First off , any concept that admits that it does something for the sake of garnering votes ( politically ) as opposed to dealing with rationale , common sense and the truth is an ideology of the damned. To be trapped in a worldview that is so oppresive one must acuiesce to the claimed offense of anyone who chooses to make an issue out of the arbitrary is punishment enough I suppose.
I have even done a routine mocking the over the top value given to actors in this society , not because I don't find value in the arts , I just don't find artists more important or insightful then the rest of us plain folk. That being said I do want to clarify that I believe artists are very important to a society. Their creativity is God-given whether they know it or not and motion pictures can be very astute in examining life experience through a medium that is more conducive to those raised on computers as opposed to those archaic administors of knowledge...the book.
I should also say that the reason I seem to be suddenly sympathetic to actors and their craft is not just out of my ability to be fair minded and inclusive but mainly because I am leaving for L.A. for 3 weeks to shoot a movie. It's called " Welcome to Paradise" and stars Crystal Bernard of "Wings" fame and Brian Dennehy of " Every movie that has ever been made in the last 20 years" fame.
My wife is actually played by Brian Dennehy's daughter. Great , I get to have as my wife the daughter of the one actor in Hollywood that can kick my butt! Anyway , it is always ironic that one ends up in the very world he found so amusing before. I don't expect it to change me much as I have been at this game too long to take anything seriously except God. I'd write more but I gotta run... I have a 2 oclock with my people at the Beverly Hills hotel. If your in the area stop by , you can catch me in the Polo lounge after my massage.I'll try and let you peeps in on more about this as it progresses. It's a great story which I can't reveal to you yet...hey at least there's no cowboys.
